Dr. V. Bala Kumar is the Founder of STAAR Group Hospital. A qualified and experienced Diabetologist and general physician, Dr. Balakumar embarked on a mission to provide Great healthcare at affordable value for semi-urban and rural parts of Tamil Nadu.

Dr. Balakumar established the need of 24 hours emergency care facility in the city Tiruvannamalai and thus founded STAAR Hospital in 2013. He is instrumental in bringing back personalized care and empathetic doctor-patient relationship into the healthcare industry with warmth at every touch point in patient journey.
Under his leadership, STAAR Hospital has been successful in ushering a culture of restoring trust among the entire ecosystem of Healthcare and medical fraternity at large, due to the personal connect established between patient, their families and STAAR Hospital.

Dr Bala kumar's vision of bringing Affordable and Great Healthcare to the heart of Tamil Nadu is clearly part of the SOCIAL conscience of the organization's business model of ensuring accessibility of high end technology in medical science to all sections of society. He was a scholarship based student and passed the competitive practical exams as Top Gun of the batch, has Completed Phd in diabetes from BMU,USA,. he has also completed his Fellowship in Diabetes and Cardiology. Among the many laurels conferred on Dr. Balakumar, notable ones to be named are the "life time achievement of TOP Entrepreneurs " 2016, by DAMS FACILTY Delhi.

Dr. Ishwariya is the executive chairman of STAAR Group of Hospital. Dr. Ishwariya is a trained general physician. Her vision of making Great Healthcare affordable became reality in 2013, she become the part of STAAR hospital since 2015. She was trained in CMC VELLORE, for 2 years in emergency care. She also did her FRMS , in Tirunalvelli.

STAAR Hospital's Mission is to bridge the burgeoning gap in trust between patients and Hospital and restore the importance of empathetic healing.

Dr. Ishwariya’s firm belief of adoption of best practices to optimization of the stay of patient in hospital helps in reducing the cost of treatment thereby making great healthcare affordable. This also helps in reducing the negative impact on tertiary health care due to complexities of various diseases and lack of availability of high end investigation tools.
Having completed her M.B.A., in hospital management her focus was to bring healthcare doorstep and at affordable ranges.

Dr. Ishwariya's focus on implementation of lean methodologies and 5S practices has helped STAAR Hospital win several AWARDS in 5S, Quality Circle initiatives (employee's ability to assess and resolve issues on their own).
